drivers for mkb 230

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if there would be any advantage in matching the magnet and voice coil formation of drivers in different pass bands. For example using B&C 12nw100's in kick horns with 18nw100's in tapped horns.

Also Marc could you please sim the 12nw100's in the mkb 230.
I also have a cheaper option of 18sound 12mb600 but im a bit concerned about their low xmax of 4.5mm for horn loading application, any thoughs on this would be great.

The 12MB600 is a mid bass speaker so the xmax is not a problem for this use (High pass 75Hz or higher) . You can use it in the MKB-230. It will be better than the 12NW100.

so i have purcased 4 x 12mb600's to make 2 x mkb-230. I have cut all my pieces for one box.
Only question is, i cant find any 10mm ply for the driver mounting panel without getting a whole sheet.
I have a piece of 9mm the right size. I realise that this changes the front chamber volume by 10% thus increasing the compression ratio. Is the increase going to be too much, and can I counteract this by rounding off the edges of the throat panel closer to the driver to get back this lost volume

i could also use 12mm if that will work better.

You could use the 9mm panel without problem.
