MHB 46 Loaded with Void V18-1000 driver

I've answered my own question, just found a topic on the forum about the very same thing haha.

Another question, how would the V18 fair against the LF18G401 in this cab. The reason for leaning towards the V18 is that my system is getting built on a slight budget, I can get hold of the V18 cheap second hand.

Hi, I've simulated the V18-1000 in MHB-46, it will have similars performances than LF18G401, perhaps the V18 1000 will sound a little more dynamic as it has lower Qts.

Thanks Marc thats good news. There is a member over on the Speakerplans forum saying that the V18 will not work well on the reflex part of the cab being a driver designed for horn loading. But as you say you have simmed it and it does look to function on par with the G401.
 
I think I'll build a cab from MDF, load it with the V18 and go from there.

Loudspeakers like V18-1000 or PD1850 are not designed for Bass Reflex boxes. However, an hybrid horn is not a simple reflex, so you can use the V18-1000 in the MHB.
