18lw2400 bass cab

Hai mr. marc and others I'm a dj from suriname(dutch is my langu). My english is not so good, but i will try to explain my question.

I bought 4 18lw2400 drivers..I already make 2 ms-46 cabs..I like the output but i have to push it hard to gain a max spl with good bass response, everything in the place is rattling, pants wappering. Is this a good cab for my drivers?what can you tell me about the cone control in these cab for my drivers.is it safe?

i'm looking for a cabinet with max spl for these drivers(the AES is 1200w). freq from 45 to 120hz. i'm playing in/outdoor at big hall as 25m by 40m..i want a punchy and chest pounding bass..and i think far throw is also a must..we must feel the bass.

The MS46 is not the best for great bass at 20 - 40m !
MTH46vs has a best sensibility than MS46 for example, with kick the MHB4818
Marc could give you information for the best cab for your 18lw2400

I've make simulation of the 18LW2400: it gives very good response. There's no problem with Xmax, just cut it at 35Hz 24dB/oct Butt, don't overload amp and it will be perfect.

Other cabinet like MHB-4818 gives more output and is very physical, but at the expense of size. So if you like the MS-46 and don't want bigger, keep the MS-46.

Oke, i will start making 2 more ms 46. can is the backpanel design of the mhb4818 the same as the old keele/jbl model or is yours different. can you please send me the design of the backpanel if it is different, i will make that also after the holidays or maybe next week for my p audio 600w drivers..

another question..my 2 ch amp gives me 1200W @ 8 ohm per ch, 1900W @4ohm per ch, and bridged 4000W @ 4ohm..how can i connect those drivers..do i have to use second amp?
for example 1 per ch or 2 per ch @ 4ohm or bridged 2 cabs?

The MHB-4818 is different from the old 4818, it is more sensitive by 1 dH more and has lower cuttoff, also more easy to build.

Ideal power for your driver is 1500 watts per driver, limiter set to half of this power.

I have 6 of them..if the mhb4818 is not the best suited cab, what cab do u recommend me..i will use them in a discoclub 25m-25m with low ceiling 3m...max people of 600..and doing house, zouk, merengue, soca and dancehall. I think 50hz and up will oke for me.

there here is very few amps that can runs properly 4 ohms bridged, So test it.

Mr. Marc can I put these drivers in the MHB-46? I need a plan for these driver that give me both, kick and bass..do u have a solution for me?

There isn't enough Xmax, so it could be a problem at high levels.

I allready buy the 18LW2400 for the ms 46 scoop sir, but now I have 6 drivers from P audio and i'm searching for a good cab...they are now in bass reflex, but they don't perform so good...thats why I'm searching for another cabinet for them...it will be fixed in a club, I dont care if I have to build big boxes for them, but i want good performance of those drivers....if you can help me with a good cab design, i will be very happy sir...

You can put the P.audio in the MS-46 or MTH-46vs, but limiter power set to 250 watts RMS with a 500 watts RMS amp.

in the weekend i use my 4 MS-46 loaded with 18LW2400 outdoor for the first time and the throw is very bad...in front of the box, with full power you will feel the bass, shaking your face and eyes, drilling your chest, but after a 5m(15ft) you just dont feel the bass anymore...can you tell me what i'm doing wrong?

What crossover frequencies? Butterworth, LR? Have you eq? what gain and what frequencies?

What amp and how many cab by channel amp?
